Byron Clinic Terms & Conditions

Byron Clinic Pty Ltd (Byron Clinic) is an independent training organisation and is not affiliated with any professional associations or organisations other than those stated on each individual workshop or training event.

Byron Clinic makes no representation that our workshops and training events are affiliated with any accreditation bodies, associations and/or organisations, unless explicitly stated for a specific event.

These workshops are designed to complement your clinical practice. Your choice to use techniques or procedures learnt at a Byron Clinic event are solely at your discretion and Byron Clinic makes no claim as to your competence or proficiency in delivering such services. Byron Clinic accepts no responsibility for the clinical application of any techniques or procedures learnt at any of our workshops or training events.

Bookings and Registration

Workshop places are limited and will be booked on a first come first served basis. A person is not registered for this workshop until the completed registration is received and workshop payment has been processed.

Applications will be processed according to the advertised cost & conditions. Tax receipts will be made out to the applicant unless otherwise stated. The applicant is responsible for supplying clear and correct information; any changes or additional contact by Byron Clinic Pty Ltd may incur an administration fee.

All payments to Byron Clinic Pty Ltd are to be processed via our online payment gateway, unless otherwise stated. We do not offer offline credit card processing.

A tax receipt and confirmation of your registration will be issued via email to your nominated email address within 7 days of receipt of payment. You agree to contact Byron Clinic Pty Ltd if you have not received notice or a receipt within 7 days of payment. Requests for copies of tax invoices/receipts after this 7 day period will incur an administration fee of $90 ex gst.

Certificates of Attendance

Byron Clinic Pty Ltd provides a Certificate of Attendance for each workshop. These are distributed as a hard copy to participants at the workshop. Requests for copies of a Certificate of Attendance after the workshop has finished will incur an administration fee. If you register within 21 days prior to the event start date, we cannot guarantee that you will be provided with a hard copy certificate. In this event, we will provide a digital Certificate of Attendance in pdf format.

These Certificates are purely to indicate that you attended the workshop and don’t make any claim as to your individual competency in the clinical application of any techniques or interventions.

Attendance at Byron Clinic workshops does not confer any professional qualification or accreditation, unless otherwise specifically stated.

Workshop Booklets

The decision to distribute any documents or training manuals at a workshop is done so at the discretion of the Presenter. The format, method and style of presentation of any such supporting material is also at the discretion of the Presenter and no amendments or alterations to the material can or will be made at the request of a workshop attendee.

Catering & Refreshments

Unless otherwise clearly stated, Byron Clinic does not offer or include catering, including tea and coffee, at any of our workshops and training event.

Transfer of Registration

You may transfer your registration to another attendee OR to another venue within 7 days of the event start date. Notification of a transfer including the transferee’s full name and email address must be received in writing within this time frame.

Cancellation & Refunds Policy

Should you wish to cancel your registration, a charge of $99 (inc GST) will be made for cancellations received in writing at least 30 days prior to the event start date.

No refunds can be offered under any circumstances for cancellations made within 30 days of the event start date.

Cancellation of an Event by Byron Clinic

In the event Byron Clinic Pty Ltd needs to cancel the workshop, then a full refund will be made of any registration fee paid by an attendee. Byron Clinic Pty Ltd will not be responsible for any cost other than any payment made by you for workshop registration.

Change to Event

Byron Clinic Pty Ltd reserves the right to make any changes to any events, programs or workshops without notice. This includes changes to the scheduled date of the event, the venue of the event as well as the substitution of an alternative presenter if the advertised presenter is not available. In the event that a workshop presenter is unable to complete a Byron Clinic workshop, then Byron Clinic Pty Ltd reserves the right to substitute another experienced presenter to complete the training.

In the event of any changes, we will attempt to contact you at the earliest opportunity using the contact information supplied by you at the time of booking. It is your responsibility to ensure these details are accurate and to regularly check your website for any notification of changes.

Our Workshops: Disclaimer

All views, opinions and comments expressed by a Presenter at a Byron Clinic workshop or training event do not reflect the official position, policy or beliefs of Byron Clinic and it’s employees.

Any such views, opinions and comments are solely those of the Presenter alone.

Byron Clinic workshops are defined as a meeting at which a group of people engage in activity on a particular subject or project with the intention of gaining knowledge, skills or techniques. Byron Clinic workshop delivery can include but are not limited to; demonstrations, session recordings, audience questions, practice exercises, lecture, video presentations, discussion and experiential demonstrations. Each Byron Clinic workshop is unique with content and presentation primarily determined by the presenter. Should you require further details on a particular workshop please feel free to contact us.

Byron Clinic workshops are primarily intended for mental health professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, counsellors and social workers. Byron Clinic workshops are also open to the public with an interest in the subject matter. Workshops are not an opportunity for therapeutic treatment and mental health care.

Byron Clinic’s Exhibition, Marketing and Advertising by Individuals and Outside Organisations Policy

Subject to approval of content and suitability, Byron Clinic allows, at no cost, registered attendees (a minimum of 2 nominated persons) associated with relevant organisations, the opportunity to promote their organisations during morning and afternoon teas and lunch via discussion, business cards and brochures.

Byron Clinic will provide a nominated table to facilitate this shared networking space at each training. Individuals and Organisations need to secure Byron Clinic’s approval before placing any materials on the networking table. Byron Clinic will announce these networking opportunity at each training. Byron Clinic does not take any responsibility for the security of these materials.

Byron Clinic does not allow any presenters, individual or organisation to solicit contact and email details of registered attendees at our training events. Further, Byron Clinic does not condone unsolicited marketing to, or recruitment or harassment of our registered attendees. Byron Clinic works on the premise that interested individuals will take business cards and brochures and approach organisations of their own accord.

Byron Clinic’s Public Liability Insurance Policy

Byron Clinic’s public liability insurance covers the presenter(s) and registered attendees at Byron Clinic’s events. Only those attendees who have registered via Byron Clinic’s registration process will be covered by our public liability insurance policy. Security will refuse entry to unregistered persons.

Byron Clinic’s public liability insurance policy does not cover any activity which may involve direct physical contact by the presenter(s) or registered attendees. In the event that physical contact is necessary for the purposes of demonstration, then the demonstrator of the technique needs to seek authorisation from Byron Clinic at least four weeks prior to the commencement of the training. The demonstrator will need to provide Byron Clinic with a copy of their own public liability insurance policy to cover the proposed activity.

Byron Clinic will legally assess this public liability insurance policy before the actual training event. Once this policy has been legally reviewed, we will contact the applicant in writing regarding the outcome of this assessment. This process attracts an administration fee of $350.00 per application.

Due to the potential ethical and legal implications, Byron Clinic strongly advises against utilising demonstrations requiring physical contact. In the past, demonstrations requiring physical contact have been pre-recorded and shown at trainings via video.

Video/Audio Taping and Photography Policy

The Audio / Video recording and taking of photos (including camera phones) at Byron Clinic professional development events is strictly prohibited.

Byron Clinic reserves the right to take photographs and record video and/or audio at our events for future promotional and archival use. If you do not wish to be included in any such material, please advise Byron Clinic prior to the event and we will ensure to the best of our ability to not capture or publicly display any such media containing anything that would identify you.
